Content rules

  1. Illegal Content – We don’t allow support or praise of terrorism, organized crime or hate groups on Candao. Offering sexual services and selling firearms and drugs are also prohibited. Hate Speech, Bullying and Abuse – We remove credible threats of violence, hate speech and the targeting of private individuals.
  2. Share only photos and videos that you’ve taken or have the right to share. As always, you own the content you post on Candao. Remember to post authentic content, and don’t post anything you’ve copied or collected from the internet that you don’t have the right to post.
  3. One good way to see if a photo is copyrighted is by reverse searching for the image. Right click on the image and select “copy image address”. Then paste this into Google Images or a site dedicated to reverse image search, like TinEye. This will show you where the image is used, and where it has come from.
  4. Any image or picture that is taken by the Government or those that are considered to be in the public domain are considered to be copyright-free images and can be used freely by anyone.
  5. It’s by no means impossible to use an image that is copyright protected – you just need to get a license or other permission to use it from the creator first. In most cases, using the work either involves licensing an image through a third-party website, or contacting the creator directly. To find more information about using the copywrited images, please read “A beginner’s guide to using copyrighted images“.
